Lisa Helmholz-Adams
Lisa Helmholz-Adams, Owner and Curator is known as being an innovator in the Vermont fine art industry for 28 years with a unique ability to find unbelievable talent in the art world, and establishing long-term mutually beneficial relationships between both artists and collectors. Since the gallery's founding, her mother Romona Helmholz has served as Director.
Her formative years in West Africa helped her appreciate diverse art and international cultures, which in turn has guided her current philanthropic endeavors with organizations such as Global Reach. She curates a select variety of well known artists who are respected in their medium (some of whose work is nationally recognized in permanent art collections at various museums).
The ambiance of the gallery is primarily defined by dynamic large-scale contemporary art (sculpture, classical realism, abstract expressionism, fine art photography) as well as exuberant street art.
Romona Helmholz
Romona Helmholz serves as Director of Helmholz Fine Arts.
Ms. Helmholz can be classified as an ‘entrepreneurial artist’, as she has not only developed and managed two prior start up businesses, but she is also classically trained as an artist across several mediums (oil, charcoal, and cut outs to name a few) at both Pratt Institute and Parsons School of Design in New York City.
Her most recent artistic business venture was called ‘The House of Bamboo,’ where she leveraged a love of bamboo tortoise patterns, and taught herself to build and design one of a kind tortoise pattern bamboo mirrors and coffee tables with an overlay of gold or silver leaf. At the time, press coverage included being prominently showcased by Elle Décor Magazine.
Prior to this, Romona ran her own ad agency (Helmholz & Assoc.) based in New York City.
Earlier on, she and her family spent several years in West Africa, where the diverse culture, colorful people, and oral history traditions made an indelible impression on her and all of which continue to nourish and sustain her perspective, humility, and general outlook on life.
She is the proud mother of three children and currently splits her time between NYC and Manchester, VT.
Global Reach
A guiding principle of my life since growing up in West Africa has been to create goodwill through both passion and purpose.
Giving back has always been a part of my life and is made more purposeful when those efforts help create community and raise awareness.
Global Reach is a non profit platform whose initial mission will be to give back to local, national, and international organizations including The Artist Book Foundation, Hunger Free Vermont, Manchester Riverwalk and Ready for Reading in Rwanda.
